The Donnes are an indie pop band based in Helsinki, Finland. Their songs explore a wide range of themes, often centered around love, loss and nostalgia. The accompanying instrumentals vary from upbeat, punchy rhythms and catchy phrases to melancholy harmonies and longing melodies. Founded in 2023, The Donnes released their debut single “Cinnamon Hill” in February 2024 and their follow-up single “Alzheimer” in May 2024, and are currently performing in venues in and around Helsinki. The members draw inspiration from indie rock classics, such as The Smiths, The Strokes and The Cure, oftentimes even infusing their works with elements of other genres, such as jazz, bossa nova and midwest emo. |
